Veteran actress Fatma Karanfil has been placed in intensive care at the Murat Dilmener Hospital, part of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, where she is being treated for cancer.
Fatma Karanfil, born on February 3, 1952 in Eskişehir, made her debut in the world of cinema after winning third place in the competition organized by the Language and Culture Center in 1968.
In 1975, Karanfil married Ali Kocatepe, but they later separated. Between 1976 and 1980, she went to London for textile training. Despite being diagnosed with breast cancer, she successfully fought the disease.
Karanfil portrayed the character of ‘Fatma’ in the legendary Turkish film ‘Keloğlan’ and gained fame for her role in the 2008 series ‘Aşk-ı Memnu’ aired on Kanal D.
